We’re looking for someone to join our Revenue Team within Finance, working as part of a close-knit team, helping to manage the 30+ sites we now own. This is based at our Head Office in Quorum Business Park, Newcastle Upon Tyne.

We’re looking for someone with an accounts background, ideally AAT qualified or well on the way, and if you have knowledge on the hospitality side of things it’s a bonus

Accounts Assistant Duties:

- Being assigned a number of sites to look after and ‘own’ in terms of their sales information and reconciliations. This will involve visiting sites at certain intervals throughout the year
- Weekly input and reconciliation of bank statements
- Weekly entry of sales data into our accounting software from the EPOS/till system)
- Weekly reconciliations of PDQ, online and other methods of payments, as well as relevant balance sheet reconciliations
- Credit Control - we are just about to move the credit control function out of the sites and into our team
- Manual payments
- Problem solving when variances arise
- Recharging costs between companies
- Posting weekly cash expenses (on an ad hoc basis for holiday cover)
- Liaising with Operations and other departments as needed

Future Tasks:

- Management Accounts - assist with month end tasks as required such as stock, accruals, prepayments etc for
- Being involved with new site setups / re-opening of sites after refurbishment
- Zonal - more in depth once you’re confident with the rest of the role

Essential Skills
- Accounting knowledge, at least partially AAT qualified or other relevant qualifications
- Balance sheet reconciliation experience
- Good communication skills
- Ability to use own initiative and problem solve
- Use of Excel
- Organised and manage time well

This position would ideally be for someone wanting a full-time position (35 hour working week). It will be based working in our Head Office at Quorum Business Park near Newcastle, but with the option of some hybrid working once the initial 6-month probationary period has been successfully completed.
