Deputy Editor

Are you an experienced news writer, sub-editor or assistant editor on a magazine or newspaper? Are you looking for your next challenge writing, editing and being a key influencer for a B2B publications company and conference organiser in the automotive sector?

**Job duties**:

- Supporting the editor in running news operations, sourcing exclusives, managing the features calendar, and helping to set the agenda for coverage.
- Sourcing and writing unique news content for print and online.
- Researching and writing features and analysis.
- Posting on social media channels as required.
- Working closely with a small team of designers.
- Setting and maintaining the style sheet.
- Attending and reporting on UK-wide industry events and conferences (some international travel will also be required).
- Deputising for the editor when absent and acting as a spokesperson for the brand when required.

**Person specification**:

- Minimum of 2 years working with senior responsibility on a B2B or consumer publication
- Proven track record of researching and writing engaging content.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines.
- Commercially aware and able to work closely with sales and marketing colleagues.
- Excellent communication skills and good networking capabilities.
- Meticulous attention to detail and excellent subbing skills.
- Experience in the automotive sector would be preferred but is not essential.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £30,000.00-£33,000.00 per year
