Officer Instructor Plumber

1- The post holder will be responsible for the effective management and development of those in our care within the context of vocational training and employment. They will support those in our care in gaining nationally recognised qualifications aimed at improving their employment prospects on release.- Responsibilities- 1- Maintain security and discipline in the workplace by the monitoring of tool issue, rub down searches and searches of the workplace meeting security standards set by National policy.- 1- Ensure effective use of resources including budget, prisoner numbers, wages, materials, and equipment with functional areas.- 1- Ensure effective maintenance of machinery and equipment is carried out in accordance with regulations.- 1- 1- To provide support to other Offender Outcomes functional areas to ensure effective service delivery.**Person Specification**- Qualification Requirements- 1- Served a recognised apprenticeship and achieved an accredited qualification in Plumbing (SVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds equivalent).- 1- Achieved the A1 Assessor Award or willing to work towards.- Knowledge, Skills and Experience Requirements- 1- Occupational competency in a construction, training, production, service or maintenance occupation or environment.- 1- Sound knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation, particularly in relation to Risk Assessments, Safe Systems of Work and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations.- 1- A knowledge and understanding of the strategy for the management women and young people, Getting it Right for Every Child (GIRFEC) and the Vision for Young People in Custody- 1- Experience in using Microsoft Word, Excel and associated software packages.- Behaviour Requirements- 1- Listen & Communicate- 1- Relationships & Collaboration- Selection method 1 1- Situational Judgement Test- Selection method 2 1- Cognitive Ability Test- Selection method 3 1- Group Exercise- Selection method 4 1- Written Exercise- Selection method 5 1- Interview- Selection method 6 1- Final Stage Interview
