What will this role achieve?
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Compliance Technologist at our Harlesden site The Compliance Technologist supports the Site Compliance Manager (SCM) and works closely with the Site Advisor to deliver compliance to legal requirements and to pladis standards of food safety, quality, hygiene, pest control, health, safety & environmental standards, through involvement of site activities, monitoring, auditing and providing advice.
You will co-ordinate the compliance elements of raw material intake (ingredients and packaging) and be a key contact for suppliers, support the site in managing complaints, accidents, issue and incident prevention and investigations, and implement continuous improvements to the systems, processes and standards as advised by the SCM.
What will be your key deliverables?
- Maintain a good knowledge of the site and its operations, with a clear focus on food safety, hygiene, health and safety, environment and quality.
- Supports the site teams in ensuring compliance to appropriate GMPs and HSE Operating standards.
- Recognise and raise any issues or areas of concern where compliance is at risk. Review make recommendations and support implementation of appropriate changes and preventative measures.
- Carry out internal site compliance audits, to the approved schedule, to demonstrate adherence to standards and procedures that deliver high Safety, Quality and Environment standards.
- Prepare the site for central & external accreditation audits. Support the SCM during the audits and any visits (e.g. local authority, high profile and head office visits), preparing documentation and collating traceability information.
- Ensures all relevant documentation and site systems are in line with Compliance standards and all changes are optimally communicated in a timely and effective manner.
- Manage the compliance elements of raw material intake, including arrangements for testing, documentation, traceability and supplier review.
- Supports continuous improvement through identification of areas for improvement, involvement in projects and through support in issue resolution, driving a reduction in risks and ensuring best practice.
- Carries out appropriate Food Safety, Health & Safety, Product Quality, Environment, Hygiene & Pest Control training of site manufacturing teams.

- Proven experience in a food manufacturing role with a bias on quality and/or safety
- Ability to work and connect with key partners from a variety of functions
- Able to demonstrate an appetite for knowledge and personal/professional development
- Able to see opportunities to improve practices to deliver a tangible benefit
- Respectful and curious, but at the same time resilient and results-oriented
- Willing to go above and beyond scope of role
- Positive ‘can do’ demeanour
- Thorough and diligent with an eye for detail
- Proven track record to deliver against deadlines
- Confident with use of IT
Desirable
- Graduate in food related degree
- Level 3 Food Safety
- Level 3 HACCP
- Level 4 in either Food Safety or HACCP
- IOSHH Managing Safety
