The Royal Stoke Emergency department is going through an exciting period of positive development and change at the moment. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic band 3 Health care assistant to join our ambulatory care area. We have a workforce model focused on providing safe and effective patient care, leadership and development of the nursing team. You will be offered a period of supernumerary as well as on the job training from a dedicated team.

Full and part time hours will be considered. You will be required to work a shift pattern including evenings, weekends and nights.

The primary focus of the role will be to provide essential clinical care to patients under the indirect supervision of the registered nurse.

You will be required to perform a range of delegated clinical duties utilising and developing the skills identified for the clinical area. These duties will include undertaking minor injury procedures as required. You will be expected to develop an extensive knowledge and skill set for wound care and other minor injury treatments.

You will be required to maintain a high level of record keeping, recording all clinical tasks undertaken for patients within the nursing documentation in an accurate, timely and complete manner.

You should be able to perform and accurately record patient observations and escalate any abnormal findings as required to the registered nurse.

You will require good communication skills to work as part of the wider multidisciplinary team, as well as to communicate with patients and their relatives.
