RM Power Services is a growing Independent Connection Provider. Estabished in 2016, we offer developers, DNO's/ IDNO's and other electrical contractors a wide package of services including HV & LV Jointing, substation builds, cable pulling, commissioning, testing and SAP work, etc.

**Job description**

We have the opertunitity to offer the postion of trainee cable jointer to work alongside a 30 year qualified Electrical Engineer and a jointers mate working as a 3 man team. Full training as required will be offered to the successful applicant.

Working area can be country wide but typically within a 2 hour traveling distance, with the occasional overnight stay as required. Travel to and from site will be in a company vehicle.

**Job Role**

Working alongside the Electrical Engineer and mate Monday to Friday with occasional overtime at weekends. Time on site typically from 8am, for site induction until 4pm. Travel to and from site will depend on the location and will be in addition to the on-site working hours.

Daily assistance/support to the Electrical Engineer & where relevent learning the work being undertaken.

Sharing of driving to and from site in the company vehicle, with the occasional towing of trailers.

Ensuring both the company vehicle and working site is kept clean & tidy.

Helping to prepare the working area and making sure all tools and equipment are to hand as required.

Keeping an account of consumable items and ensuring that stocks are kept at an appropriate level.

Live working accompliment alongside the Electrical Engineer.

Completion of test forms and as-laids as required.

Any other reasonable duties as requested by the Electrical Engineer or Directors.

**Requirements**:
A full Clean UK Driving License

Minimum of 18 years of age due to the legal requirement for Live Working Accompliment as stipulated by the Electricity Safety Rules.

Passes in Maths, Science and English GCSE's/or equivalent.

Ability to travel in accordance with the nature and location of the company's work and willingness to stay away overnight as required.

An understaning and comitmment to follow the Company's safety policies and all other relevent industry safety requirements in order to comply with the Health & Safety at Work Act and other UK law.

Willing to work to full potential and to constantly promote the professional and efficient reputation of the company at all times.

A desire to learn and undertake training to broaden knowledge and experience, through both on-the job mentoring and formal courses.
The following would be required for HV/LV Cable Jointer:

- Previous or current authorisation certificates
- Training certificates
- First Aid at Work in date certificate
- Valid CSCS/EUSR (SHEA Power) card
- Manual Handling Certificate

The following would be beneficial but not essential for Jointers mate/trainee
- Previous or current authorisation certificates
- Training certificates
- First Aid at Work in date certificate
- Valid CSCS/EUSR (SHEA Power) card
- Manual Handling Certificate
- Basic electrical knowledge / previous on job experience

**Benefits**

Hourly rate of pay to be negociated depending on previous experience and level of qualifications/training.

Minimum 40 hours per week paid, with applicable overtime paid in excess.

20 Days paid holiday entitlement (Plus Bank Holidays).

Option of company pension. once probation period complete

Use of company vehicle to travel to and from site.

As required, overnight accommodation and meals booked and paid directly by the company.

All necessary tools and PPE provided.

All relevant training provided.

Potential to progress with additional training and development available.
