Denholm are delighted to be working with our IT Consultancy client on an opportunity for a Senior Network Architect / Consultant to assist in the delivery of the largest network project in UK. Our client is a SME business based in Edinburgh but this rolecan be based anywhere in the UK. This will be remote working role with client site visits as and when required in the UK and perhaps Europe occasionally.
Ideally our client is looking to fulfil this role on a permanent basis, but they will also consider this role on contract basis if necessary.
You will be a Senior Network Architect or Consultant, with experience in large scale delivery projects. This role will provide architectural leadership for a significant infrastructure transition in the retail sector and includes assurance of WAN, LAN, DataCentres, Compute, Storage, Security and Cloud. Included is the critical evaluation of the delivery performance of suppliers who will be responsible for delivering various components under outsourced agreements.
You will be a key member of the transition project team analysing complex / new situations, plans, and designs, anticipating potential problems and future trends, assess opportunities, impacts and risks. You will be required to communicate with key suppliercontacts and conclude negotiations resulting in common agreements. You are expected to be innovative, flexible and able to deal with a range of project stakeholders ranging from Chief Technology Officer to Field technicians.

**Accountabilities**:

- Assure required artifacts (design document, diagrams, test plans, etc.)
- Oversee the Design and implementation of the infrastructure to support the transition
- Work closely with suppliers to monitor progress, challenge performance and ensure Project timelines and deadlines are met
- Work closely with Operational teams who will assume responsibility for the transitioned Technology once live
- Possess strong leadership skills and further the evolution of intellectual capital assets and developing architectural resources
- Be comfortable dealing with the commercial implications of technology issues and decisions and able to represent these to a non-technical audience
- Previous hands-on experience in solution design and delivery particularly in transition projects
- Experience in Data Centre Build Out
- Experience in delivering complex IT projects in a retail or similar environment
- Detailed understanding of infrastructure components (Network, Storage, Compute, Virtualisation, Data Centres and Cloud )
- Experience using agile and waterfall delivery methods
- Excellent communication skills, able to articulate complex ideas to project managers, suppliers and key stake holders
- Understanding of concepts and requirements of Business Continuity (Disaster Recover, Backup)
- Strong Organisational skills and able to work without supervision
- Knowledge of ITIL framework for IT service management
