Nursery Apprentice

**Purpose of Post**
- To train to become a qualified member of staff whiles studying a childcare qualification level 2 or 3.
- To contribute to a high quality caring environment for children. This includes creating a warm, friendly and stimulating atmosphere in which the children can develop emotionally, socially and educationally through individual attention and group activities.
**Responsible to**:
Mentor/ Room Leader/ Member of management team.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Attend regular tutor visits and complete Apprenticeship tasks by deadlines given.
- To attend team and staff meetings.
- Alongside team members, provide all aspects of care for children including interacting, washing, cleaning and feeding children.
- To assist with meeting the personal and emotional needs of individual children.
- To provide meaningful interaction with children within the nursery.
- To understand and follow the companies policies and procedures.
- To revise and confidently learn the Early Years Foundation Stage.
**Team Work**
- Support all staff and engage within your team.
- To contribute ideas and a positive attitude towards your team.
**General**
- To contribute to good standards of hygiene cleanliness throughout the nursery.
- To undertake additional roles and responsibilities of an equivalent nature as determined by mentor or management team.
- To uphold the nurseries high standards at all times.
- To be aware of all emergency and fire evacuations procedures.
- To know and understand as part of your apprenticeship training you will be required to move around the nursery.
- To be flexible in hours and duties in order to meet the needs and requirements of the nursery.
