Job Title: English GCSE tutor

**Job Description**:
We are looking to appoint an experienced tutor who will work within Grantham delivering tuition sessions. This will be in a group setting up to 1:6

Responsibilities and Duties:
To work with small groups.

Establish good working relationships with students.

Provide engaging, targeted tuition that supports students achievement and progress

Conexus Tuition requires all of our tutors to demonstrate an ability to work in a way that promotes the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.

Rate of pay: £32 per hour

This role is advertised on a self employed basis, with the tutor providing tuition services to Conexus Tuition Grantham through a Consultant Agreement.

Person Specification

Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status

Skills / Qualities / Experience:
Pupil centred, engaging and high energy

Knowledgeable in the latest exam specifications and requirements (top up training will be given)

Confident in planning tuition sessions and delivering tuition.

Resilience to challenge with a variety of strategies for engaging reluctant learners.

Experienced teaching whole classes, small intervention groups or 1:1 tuition

Graduate of English

Confident to differentiate to a broad range of pupil needs, abilities, and personalities.

Experienced offering pastoral support in nurture groups, form groups or working in nurture/inclusion units.

Experience working with low ability students or those who present with SEN

Confident to manage any challenging behaviour and able to re-engage hard to reach learners.

Able to plan and effectively deliver all your own learning materials.

Competent at providing detailed feedback and progress reports to track the progress of students both academically and socially.

Proven track record of being able to raise student attainment.

Fluent in spoken and written English

We expect all of our employees / contractors / volunteers to demonstrate a clear understanding of and commitment to safeguarding children at all times. We have a robust suite of policies in place which we require all personnel, regardless of the position, to commit to following. Additionally, as part of your onboarding and induction, you will be required to confirm that you have accessed the relevant handbook for your role, engaged with relevant training and briefings and that you complete appropriate safeguarding refresher training at least once per academic year.

**Salary**: £32.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 1.5 per week

- Bachelor's (preferred)

- Tutoring: 1 year (preferred)
- Teaching: 5 years (required)
