Crèche Assistant

20 hrs per week
**Purpose of Post**:
To contribute a high standard of physical, emotional and social development for children placed in the creche.
Plan and implement activities and experiences to promote children's play, learning and development.
Liaise with parents accordingly.
**Key Areas**:
1. Interact and support child learning and development
2. To collect children from local primary school

4. Support senior staff with other business related duties*

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- To have an understanding and knowledge of the EYFS
- Become familiar with the My Time Curriculum
- To help plan and implement continuous provision suitable to the age range of the children
- To work alongside and support other staff
- To share ideas, skills and knowledge with team members
- To attend all out of hours meetings and training, for e.g. monthly staff meetings.
- To be versatile and flexible within the setting. Be prepared to help when needed, including undertaking certain domestic jobs within the setting, e.g. preparation of snack meals, cleansing/disinfecting of equipment.
- Be aware of children’s needs and show empathy and care, and to provide them with a sense of security and stability.
- To liaise daily with parents/ carers and feedback on meal times, activities, rest and toileting their child has undertaken throughout the day.
- To help ensure the needs of individual children from different cultures, religious backgrounds and stages of development are met.
- To care for and maintain all children’s resources and report any damaged or missing resources or toys.
- To help ensure the nursery and room areas are well organised and hygienically clean after each session.
*During quiet creche periods staff will be asked to support with other business related duties. These duties will include; Social media marketing posts, purchasing resources, preparing meals and snacks, displays and decorating, cleaning/ organising the outdoor areas, serving in the store, laundry duties, marketing (flyers), organising and labelling, deep cleaning duties and planting.
