An rare and exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Fire Safety team in the Health and Safety Directorate at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The Fire Safety Advocate is a post for a highly confident, highly motivated and conscientious person to support the Trust in its compliance with HTM Firecode and all statutory legislation and guidance. You will have fire safety risk assessment qualifications or be working towards/willing to undertake.

Specific responsibilities will include undertaking intrusive Fire Risk Assessments / Audits and developing and monitoring associated action plans.

Supporting in the delivery of training, including evacuation drills, fire safety mandatory training and fire warden training programme, preparing fire safety reports, incident investigation reports, providing reports and briefings for and attendance at relevant Trust meetings, and general day to day administrative support.

Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was created on 1 October 2019 following the merger of two adult acute Trusts, Aintree University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust.

The merger provides an opportunity to reconfigure services in a way that provides the best healthcare services to the city and improves the quality of care and health outcomes that patients experience.

The Trust runs Aintree University Hospital, Broadgreen Hospital, Liverpool University Dental Hospital and the Royal Liverpool University Hospital.

It serves a core population of around 630,000 people across Merseyside as well as providing a range of highly specialist services to a catchment area of more than two million people in the North West region and beyond.

To produce reports and documents as directed by the Health & Safety Manager and Fire Safety Advisers and the Manual Handling Advisers.

Undertaking intrusive Fire Risk Assessments / Audits

Developing and monitoring action plans

Supporting in the delivery of training, including evacuation drills, fire safety mandatory training and fire warden training programme.

Preparing fire safety reports, incident investigation reports, providing reports and briefings for and attendance at relevant Trust meetings, and general day to day administrative support.

To liaise with Trust staff on behalf of the Health & Safety Manager/Fire Safety Advisers when necessary.

Maintaining stationery stock levels for Health and Safety and Fire Safety.

Completion of order forms for office items.

Issuing of Incident Reports to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) according to the Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations (RIDDOR).

To maintain the safety training database

To maintain the desk diaries of managers.
