Information Services Division (ISD) is the primary provider of IT services to UCL. We support and enhance learning, teaching, research and administrative processes by providing information
- and technology-related services to over 50,000 staff and students of UCL and associated institutions.

Identity and Access Management (IAM) is an important IT function at UCL, responsible for processes that allow our users access to the services they need when they need them. The Platform Team are responsible for maintaining identity systems that consolidate data about UCL people, providing users with accounts and access to the systems they require for their day-to-day work.

Our key drivers for IAM services are:

- Data - using good quality data to drive IAM services and minimise manual processing.
- User Experience - to ensure users can access services as they need with as little friction as possible.
- Security - aiming to keep users and their data safe on their digital journey at UCL.

**About the role**:
Our Identity & Access Management team are currently recruiting for a full time Technical Lead/Senior Analyst Developer to work on Identity Applications and Services. You will be deeply involved in many Platform and Portfolio initiatives, including:

- Modernisation of our Identity Mastering system, used to consolidate people data and assign unique identifiers.
- Migration of Authentication and Authorisation services to Azure Active Directory and AAD B2C.
- Design, Development and implementation of Identity APIs and workflow to modernise integrations between systems, including presentation of IAM services for end-users.
- Introducing robust CI/CD processes to IAM services and development activities.
- Management of Identity Data and Identity Governance activities to ensure IAM processes are based on good quality data.

As Technical Lead. you will be supporting day-to-day operations of Identity Services, including identifying areas for service improvement as well as contributing to agile delivery planning and taking part in daily standups to ensure delivery is on track. You will undertake development work on IAM services, including raising change requests and also work with Solution Architects to design and deliver improved functionality. Additionally you will engage with a broad range of user communities, including other product and platform delivery teams, support teams, senior stakeholders, and end users as required and advise other service owners and developers on how to integrate with Identity data, Authentication services and best practice for access management.

You will also be involved in the following:

- Development and delivery of Identity technology solutions, ranging from small or standard changes to existing services, through to major works to replace or implement service components.
- Continually updating knowledge and experience to keep step with the changing technology landscape in IAM and at UCL.

**About you**:
As an Application/Software Developer, ideally you've worked in the identity space and are willing to join an operational team to help us support, maintain, and improve our services to all our users, whether they are within the University family, seeking to join it, or collaborating with us in our teaching, research, or professional services. You're able to grasp of the key challenges around IAM in a corporate environment (especially those likely to be faced in a Higher Education setting) as well as the importance of good data quality and hygiene and cyber Security best practice. Additionally, you're a great communicator and are able to speak about technical issues to a broad range of audiences.

You will also be able to demonstrate the following skills, experience and abilities:

- Database development, especially Oracle PL/SQL
- API development using Terraform and Python - Azure AD and Microsoft 365 administration
- Power Platform: Power Apps, Power Automate, PowerBI
- Agile Delivery and CI/CD pipelines
