Are you an experienced Armourer looking for a new and exciting challenge? Do you have knowledge and experience of working with a wide range of firearms, such as rifles, pistols, and explosives? Do you thrive in a fast pace environment, working as part of a small and knowledgeable team? We are currently seeking an experience Armourer to join Wiltshire Police. With the ability to coordinate and maintain a wide range of equipment, you will be the first point of contact for any queries coming in to the department. With your previous experience in a armoury, and high professional standards, you will provide a first class service to internal and external customers, including neighbouring counties and teams.

You will have knowledge and experience of running an Armoury, accounting for all assets (incoming and outgoing), keeping clear records and accounts of maintenance, cleanliness and repairs. You will have the ability to work independently, working to deadlines and targets. This is a lone working role, and so the ability to self motivate and prioritise your workload is essential for this role.

**Main duties will include**:

- Running and managing of Wiltshire Police Armoury
- Management and repair of weapons
- Receipt of and disposal of weapons and ammunition surrendered to the police
- To report on the status of firearms and ammunition and to attend court to give evidence as appropriate
- Acting as first point of contact for queries into the Armoury

**The successful applicant will have**:

- A proven background within a similar role (police, military, civilian gunsmith)
- Understanding of the construction, repair and adaptation of guns to manufacturer’s standard
- A full manual driving licence and be willing to commute throughout county and neighbouring forces
- Ability to present to small groups, delivering complex information in an audience friendly format
