Contract Negotiator

Believ: ABOUT US

At Believ, formerly known as Liberty Charge, we believe sustainable transport should be accessible to everyone. We’re a Charge Point Operator (CPO) on a mission to create the UK’s most reliable electric vehicle charging network that doesn’t cost the earth and leaves no one behind.

We work closely with local authorities and businesses to deliver reliable, high quality charging networks at pace, at scale and at zero cost.

We offer all the advantages of being a scale-up business, but with the added security and long-term backing from well-known parents - Liberty Global (who also own our delivery partner, Virgin Media O2) and Zouk Capital (who manage the Government’s Charging Investment Infrastructure Fund).

You’ll be joining this exciting journey at the start of our scale-up phase, and work with us to hit the ambitious targets our shareholders have set. You’ll become part of a passionate and supportive team in a fast-paced, dynamic and result-driven environment.

About the role

We are looking for a Contract Negotiator. Reporting to the Partnerships Director, the role will be responsible for managing the sell-side contractual negotiations with our B2G and B2G clients. Responsibilities include:

- Undertaking pricing / commercial negotiations and driving for the best set of terms possible
- Ability to fully scope out and define the commercial offering including Believ’s services and service levels
- Ability to review existing supplier contracts to check flow-downs and ensure Believ can adhere to contractual obligations
- Work with a range of stakeholders across B2B & B2G at all levels to negotiate terms and identify potential operational pitfalls and put in place contractual measures to mitigate against these
- Support the Account Managers with any queries or negotiations post contract signature during the delivery phase
- Liaise with external stakeholders and ensure that agreements are compliant with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies
- Analyse and interpret legal documents and provide advice and recommendations on potential contractual issues (e.g. termination rights, advising on contract SLAs & deliverables)
- Identify and manage potential risks associated with agreements
- Participate in contract review and approval processes
- Prepare and present contract summaries and reports to SLT
- Maintain accurate records of all contract negotiations
- Support the negotiation of contract renewals with the Account Managers.

About you
- Proven experience as a professional leader
- A strong level of commercial business acumen
- Familiarity with working with Government funding schemes and public procurement would be beneficial
