We have a new opportunity for a Materials Controller to join our Operations team based on site at our Memory Lane Cakes factory in Cardiff.

Our Memory Lane Cakes site is part of our Cake Division within Finsbury Food Group. They make over 75% of the UK’s sharing cakes from retailer own brands cakes, tray bakes through to party cakes like Caterpillar cakes. They employ over 850 people on site and the sites runs 24/7, which encompasses a culture of Team work, friendly and respectful leadership and a focus on Continuous improvement at all levels.

The Materials Controller will report into the Materials Manager and will be responsible for production conformance and adherence by maintaining the M3 system.

**This is what you’ll actually do**
As the Materials Controller you are responsible for ensuring quality and all GMP standards are adhered to by following and promoting Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s). You ensure compliance with Food Safety, Legality and Quality Systems as intermediary between raw materials and finished product.

You are part of a team responsible for ensuring that manufacturing have the correct buttercream issued to the lines. You’ll also be responsible for investigating material reports and generating MO investigations as and when required, and making decisions based on the investigations.

You will be responsible for selecting the correct batch/best before dates of materials and escalating stock adjustments to the Materials Manager. The role is key to maintaining production conformance and adherence, making sure we maintain a high service level to our customers.

**Ideally this is you**
- Experience and/or training in manual handling and food hygiene
- Strong work ethic and ability to work under pressure
- You will also possess excellent team working and clear communicating skills
- Analytical and numerical skills
