Maintenance Surveyor

We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Surveyor to join our Customer & Community Support team. Magna Housing owns and manages around 9,000 homes and is a community-based housing association. We work in Dorset and Somerset (our head office is in Dorchester) providing housing services to local people.

The work you undertake will ensure we put our customers at the heart of what we do, whilst you take responsibility for delivering our programmes of work.

**What you will do**:

- You will visit residents in their homes and provide advice to assist in the moving out process to reduce potential recharges and identify any work required to inform project programmes and plan in work to prepare property to the Empty Home standard.
- Carry out detailed survey when resident has moved out, schedule up work using SOR’s, work with colleagues to arrange replacement kitchens, fire precaution work etc when required.
- To take a lead role in providing technical and building related matters to trade team and other colleagues, respond to enquiries from residents, external agencies.
- To assist in managing the performance of sub-contractors and directly employed staff; work closely with Trade Managers to achieve the departments performance standards.

**You will have**:

- Construction industry qualification HND/C or proven ability & experience will be considered.
- Practical on-site experience with domestic building materials and processes.
- Health and Safety awareness
- Fire door inspection qualification.
- Working with non-licenced Asbestos qualification
- Good numeracy, IT and inter-personal skills.
