Practical people interested in making a real difference in Bradford’s neighbourhoods needed.

We have a number of permanent posts available across our teams based in Bradford, Shipley and Keighley.

Come and train as a Neighbourhood Warden and then use your skills to improve residents’ quality of life in our neighbourhoods.

You’ll act as an ambassador for the Council and will clearly set out our expectations of all our citizens - that will mean educating, persuading, negotiating and demonstrating the best way.

Working on your patch alongside residents, businesses, schools, voluntary groups, police and other partners, you’ll need all your wits to problem solve the day to day issues which crop up on the streets throughout our district. This could include supporting a group of residents to organise a community clean up, undertaking educational work with school children and businesses and helping to organise fun days or other events.

Working alongside Environmental Enforcement Officers, you will be dealing with environmental issues such as rubbish in gardens, investigating fly tipping, littering and dog fouling. Following formal training and shadowing on patrol, you’ll be expected to issue fixed penalty notices (FPNs) for littering and dog fouling offences,

As a result of your work your patch will look better and residents will be better connected to the Council and each other.

You’ll need to be happy patrolling your patch in all weathers.

Applicants will need the literacy skills to issue FPNs and Community Protection Warnings for environmental offences and to complete the relevant documents, however no formal qualifications are required.

**We are also keen to hear from people who are fluent in the Eastern European or Asian languages spoken in our district.**
