**Job purpose**

To identify and help investigate crop pest and disease issues.

**Key responsibilities and accountabilities**
- Operate in a safe and professional manner and always comply with safe working practices and personal protective equipment requirements.
- Help with early identification of pest and disease presence.
- Carry out pest counts and record data on excel.
- Contribute to design of pest and disease control strategies.
- Keep all records and paperwork up to date.
- Assist with stock takes and plug intake quality reports.
- Provide assistance in other areas within crop production when required.

**Experience, skills and competencies**
- Experience of protected plant production systems - Desirable
- Awareness of integrated pest management principles - Desirable
- Excellent skills of observation - Essential
- Good communication skills - Essential
- Pest & disease recognition - Desirable

**Qualifications**
- Good level of English & Maths - Essential
