**Job overview**:
The post holder will form part of the Urgent Treatment Centre team providing skilled assessment of patients presenting with undifferentiated and undiagnosed health problems, and where necessary refer to other healthcare services/agencies.

**Main duties of the job**:
They will act as an autonomous practitioner within agreed protocols and procedures and in line with scope of professional practice.

Support the Lead Nurse and Senior Practitioners in the day to day clinical management and coordination of the Urgent Treatment Centre

The Urgent Treatment Centre based at Rochdale Infirmary offers a service for adults and children requiring assessment and management of minor injury and minor illness. With over 50,000 attendances annually and one third of the service users are children.

The team in UTC are multidisciplinary; Advanced Clinical practitioners and Emergency Practitioners working alongside General Practitioners, Emergency Consultants and a team of Registered Nurses and Healthcare Support Workers.

The team are diverse in their experience and skills that they can share with you. Amongst our team we have qualified paramedics and both adult and children's nurses practising in advanced roles. Development of staff is a key focus for us and this s achieved with the support and guidance from our in house dedicated practise based educator.

**Detailed job description and main responsibilities**:
As an Emergency Practitioner you will be able to plan, implement and evaluate an effective programme of care for your patient

You will be able to analyse and interpret information gained during clinical examination and history taking to diagnose an individuals problem or illness

You will accept clinical responsibility for a diverse range of patients presenting with minor injuries and illness

You will exercise clinical autonomy and professional judgement treating your patient independently within the UTC
