An exciting substantive or on promotion opportunity has arisen for a Detective Inspector to work within the Counter Terrorism Unit South East (CTPSE) under the Prevent Strand of the United Kingdom’s Counter-Terrorism strategy (CONTEST) by connecting CT policing, neighbourhood policing and communities.

The government-led, multi-agency Prevent programme aims to stop individuals being exploited by extremists and so we work with local authority partners and community organisations to help find solutions and work to support and protect people vulnerable to radicalisation.

The role of the DI is to deliver the policing mission within the national Counter Terrorism Strategy and discharge its Prevent duty requirements (as set within the Counter Terrorism & Security Act 2015); namely “to prevent the vulnerable from being drawn into terrorism and to prevent extremists from escalating into terrorism & radicalising others”
