Mechanical Engineer/fitter

**Adecco are currently recruiting for Mechanical Engineers and Fitters to join a manufacturing company based in Portland.**

**The Role**

This is a temporary ongoing role with potential to go Permanent.

**Responsibilities**

The position includes the fitting of various mechanical systems and components comprising:

- Installation of propulsion components, such as shafts, propellers and rudders
- Fitting of fluid power / hydraulic circuits, including the construction of hard and flexible pipe
- Installation and alignment of marine engines and gearboxes
- Fitting of high pressure fire suppression systems
- Making penetrations through bulkheads (walls) and working with Glass Reinforced Plastic/Fibre (GRP/FRP)
- Reading and using a wide variety of scaled technical engineering information?
- Applicants need the ability to read and understand scaled technical drawings
- Engineering hand skills such as drilling, tapping and filling
- Knowledge of installing complex fuel and hydraulic circuits

**Rate**

£12.70 to 15p/h DOE.

**Working hours**

Monday to Friday

7am to 3:15pm
