CCR is looking to recruit a temporary Allotment Maintenance Assistants to a newly created, small team of staff who will be responsible for a range of maintenance tasks across the Local Authorities allotment sites within Durham.

Job Role:
The postholders will work under the direction of a Chargehand but may often be required to work alone and will be expected to complete a range of routine and ad hoc repairs and maintenance tasks on allotment sites across the County. As part of this, they may also support other services and external contractors who have been engaged to complete more specialist work on the sites.

Shift Patterns:
Working hours will be 37 per week starting and finishing at the Meadowfield depot between 7am and 7.30am but flexible working hours is in operation.

**Requirements**:
The post holders will be required to hold a valid UK driving licence covering at least class B. The post holders will be responsive to allotment tenants, allotment associations, Elected Members, Area Action Partnerships and community needs and aspirations in particular those that could make improvements to the quality of the Council’s allotments.
- Clean driving licence covering at least category B.
- Competent in the use of machinery / tools relevant to the role.
- Basic all-round knowledge of both hard and soft landscaping.
- Basic general knowledge of health and safety issues relevant to the role.
