Air Export Executive

Our client, a freight forwarder is looking for an Air Export Executive to join their office in Ashford, Surrey

Working alongside the Operations Manager, you would be responsible for handling the end to end export/import process. You will be a key member of the team and regularly meet with our clients at airports to help them with Merchandise in Baggage clearance as well as being hands on to complete customs entries, AWB’s etc and help the overall smooth running of our business.

Extensive air export experience is essential as you will be their specialist in this area, and import knowledge would be beneficial. Some knowledge of road export/import would be useful. It would be very beneficial if you have experience & knowledge of the new Customs Declaration Service (CDS).

**Role responsibilities**:

- Customer quotations
- Customer relationship management
- Arranging transport including collections/deliveries with customers
- Booking of shipment with various GSA/Airlines
- Completion of airway bills and other shipping documentation (Sigma FM3)
- Completing export and import customs entries (ASM Sequoia)
- Liaising with the various authorities to obtain correct paperwork/certification/licences for the transport of goods.
- Basic Packing and Boxing of shipments (when needed)
- Assisting with loading/unloading of vehicles (when needed)
- Monitoring the status of shipments
- Liaising with overseas agents
- Export Licence Applications
- Invoicing
- Query resolution
- Dealing with any account or customer queries.
- Meeting clients face to face at airports to handle passenger clearances
- Delivery/Collection of cargo (rarely - when needed)

**Requirements**:

- Full Driving licence with no bans or convictions/restrictions
- Excellent English, both written and verbal
- Able to work 5 days in the office
- Ideally Dangerous Goods Trained (by air) - Or previously trained.
- Competent with Microsoft (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ASM Sequoia.
- You will be given a full Airside Pass at Heathrow Airport which requires extensive

background/criminal record checks.
- Available for paid over time (evenings and weekends)

Our working hours are 9 - 5.30pm, Monday to Friday however due to the nature of our business there will be the out of hours for handling export/import meets at various airports for passengers arriving (Merchandise in Baggage clearances).

**Salary**: £33,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
