We are expanding our practice in London and we seek talented, entrepreneurial recruits who are interested in developing their careers in the Turnaround & Restructuring space to join an Associate.

Our Restructuring practice offers critical assistance to companies that are under-performing or experiencing a full-blown liquidity crisis. Working directly with company management, Alvarez & Marsal helps stabilise financial and operational performance by developing and implementing comprehensive profitability and working capital improvements. Alvarez & Marsal's involvement reassures creditors that the company is taking important steps to address its problems and maximise its value.

The A&M European Restructuring team has focused on big ticket company side financial and operational restructuring assignments in addition to CRO/CEO/ CFO appointments and, within the last few years, we have delivered on some of Europe's largest restructuring cases such as Abengoa, Edcon, Toys R' US, Nyrstar, Seadrill, Intertoys, Debenhams and Isolux.

Main responsibilities:

- Quickly understand a client's rapidly changing situation to enable creative and innovative solutions/options for businesses and their stakeholders
- Offer critical assistance to companies that are under-performing or experiencing a full-blown liquidity crisis
- Work directly with company management & help to stabilise financial and operational performance
- Work with Senior Directors and Directors to deliver European and International client projects through the management of multiple work streams
- Support business development activities including the creation of client pitches and proposals to win new mandates

- Financial and Operational Restructuring
- Balance Sheet Restructuring
- Asset Sales
- Cash & liquidity management and forecasting
- Cross-border wind-downs
- Preparation and validation of business plans for company management teams
- Detailed contract reviews
- Independent business reviews
- Short term cash flow forecasting frameworks
- Stakeholder reporting on PMO cost saving initiatives
- Profit Improvement (Sales Improvement and Cost Reduction)

**Applicants**:

- A qualified accountant (ACA, ACMA or ACCA) with a robust understanding of financial and analytical accounting (ratio analysis)
- Experience of working with operational & finance teams within large distressed organisations - as an employee or an advisor
- Well developed communication skills & the ability to work with diverse and complex stakeholder groups
- Experience of building or working with integrated financial models and have Excel/PowerPoint skills
- Previous experience in contributing to work streams ensuring effective deliverables with mínimal supervision
- Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Strong facilitation skills, forging consensus around credible, executable solutions
- Excellent written and oral communications skills, impactful presenter
- Unbiased, fact based approach to problem solving
