Design Manager required to join a well-established company based in the Coventry area. This company is a world leader in the design, manufacture, installation and management of process plant for Surface Treatment, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and ProcessWater Recycling.

**Design ManagerPosition Overview**
- Ensure designs and drawings are produced on time, to a high quality and can be produced within the agreed budget.
- Develop and implement successful design strategies, outlining how the design team will create deliverables and implement them for the project.
- Ensure design teams adopt and make effective use of standard parts and products.
- Ensure required quality checking/approval procedures are carried out.
- Co-ordinate efficient outsourcing of workload.
- Ensure technical deliverables are produced within the required timescales, costs are properly managed within the project objectives and change is tightly controlled and scope properly managed.
- Keep up to date with changing regulations and ensure compliance with all current technical and HSE regulations. Maintain TCF & TF for all projects and products.
- Managing a team of engineers, supporting their continued professional development and conducting performance reviews in line with Company procedure.
- Provide effective performance feedback through employee recognition, and disciplinary action, with the assistance of Human Resources, when necessary.
- Work with Human Resources staff to recruit, interview, select, hire, and employ employees.
- Maintain employee work schedules including assignments, training, annual leave and paid time off, and cover for absenteeism.
- Report monthly on performance, set KPI's and manage the design goals.
- Manage the design budget.
- Any other reasonable duties as requested by a Manager of the Company.

**Design ManagerPosition Requirements**
- Engineering Degree with previous experience of design engineering in capital equipment engineering environment - minimum of 10 years, ideally within process plant/capital equipment projects environment
- Extensive knowledge of machinery engineering and all relevant governing regulations
- Evident experience on Inventor/Vault - Minimum of 5 years
- Previous experience managing a small team of engineers, with a track record of efficiently managing the teams' development, training, recruitment, and mentoring activities
- Previous project management experience
- Knowledge in Steel and/or Plastic fabrication
- Strong team player who relishes an open and forthright working environment.
- Able to build effective rapport with colleagues and managers
- Enthusiastic and ambitious, on upward career path seeking new professional and/or personal development opportunity

**Design ManagerPosition Remuneration**
- Full time - permanent
- Salary - £55,000 to £65,000
- 25 days annual leave plus 8 days bank holiday
