London, United Kingdom Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity Full time

**For many people a legacy is the most incredible gift they can make to the people and causes they cared about during their lifetime. If you have experience of and a passion for legacy management and want to help ensure that the final wishes of our supporters are honoured, then this is the job for you**

**About the Charity**

Every day brings new challenges at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). Every day, over 600 seriously ill children from across the UK arrive for life-changing treatments. Every day, young lives hang in the balance as patients, families and staff battle the most complex illnesses. And every day, the brightest minds come together to achieve pioneering medical breakthroughs that change the lives of thousands of children - and change the world. This extraordinary hospital has always depended on charitable support to give seriously ill children the best chance to fulfil their potential. Without donations, Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity can’t help fund ground-breaking research, advanced equipment, child and family support services, and the rebuilding and refurbishment of wards and medical facilities. Our staff help to raise these vital funds for the hospital. A better future for seriously ill children starts with you.

**Our Commitment to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion**

We recognise that people from some backgrounds are under-represented in our workforce and across the wider Charity sector. In April 2021 we launched our ambitious three-year EDI strategy committing to becoming a more inclusive workforce, reflecting the diverse communities that we work with and for and demonstrating this through all our areas of work.

Further information on our EDI strategy can be found here: GOSH Charity EDI Strategy

**About the role**

**About the team**

The Legacy Management team is currently a small team of five with a Legacy Administrator, two Legacy Officers and a Legacy Case Manager all reporting into the Head of Legacy Management. The team sits in the Fundraising Directorate and manages the largest net income stream for GOSH Charity, providing more than £20m every year. We have just embarked upon an ambitious ten-year strategy to substantially grow legacy income and the Legacy Management team works closely with our colleagues in the Legacy Marketing team to support the strategy.

**About you**

To be successful in this role, you will need to have relevant experience of probate law and estate administration, ideally from a charity legacy management perspective, however this role will also suit qualified professionals looking to make the switch to the charity sector. You will also be a motivated self-starter capable of managing a caseload of potentially complex estates, who is sensitive to the emotional impact that death can have on the families of legacy supporters.
- The ability to process and summarise large volumes of legal information effectively
- The confidence to make decisions and communicate recommendations with senior internal stakeholders
- Strong communication skills across a broad range of external stakeholders
- A working knowledge of the FirstClass database
- Completed the Certificate in Charity Legacy Administration (CiCLA)
