**The role**

We are looking for a mobile Labourer to join our Midlands Reactive Repairs Direct Services unit, supporting the Kitchen/Bathroom fitting team on works across the region.

A varied role providing an efficient and effective service as a member of the component fitting team; ensuring that adequate stock control is kept of all materials, equipment and company vehicles are checked and maintained; and carrying out minor repairs as requested by the Lead Technician

**This is a permanent, full-time position. You will need at least 12 months driving experience (to comply with our insurance policy). Ideally you will be located in the Central Midlands region.**

**Responsibilities**:

- To carry out a labour and minor repair service for planned and day to day works and ensure that a good standard of service is provided.
- To be able to carry out minor repairs such as tiling, minor plumbing and minor carpentry repairs. For example toilet leaks, replace pipework under sinks, fencing, worktop cutting and fitting, fitting bath panels, floor levelling.
- To maintain clean common areas and where works are being carried out in properties.
- Identify and report any material issues and follow stock control. Highlight any Health and Safety issues or concerns to line manager.
- Handling and transporting materials in a safe working manner.
- Assist component fitters were needed

**What you will have**:

- Work under your own initiative, with the team and under instruction.
- Carry out all works in accordance with Southern Housing guidelines, Health and Safety Regulations and to complete all necessary risk assessments to fulfil our obligations.
- Able to plan and prioritise to ensure the effective use of own time
- Commitment to providing a high quality service to all residents.
- Self motivated with high energy and enthusiasm.
- A valid UK driving licence and the ability to travel between sites and offices across all regions will be a requirement for this role.
