**Stroud Valleys Natural Flood Management Officer**:
**Job description**
- Stroud District, like most of Gloucestershire suffered the effects of severe flooding in July 2007 and there have been more significant events since.-
- This is a permanent post with SDC which is currently funded by the English Severn & Wye Regional Flood and Coastal Committee. With funding currently confirmed until March 2027. For a person with the right skills and experience a secondment from their current place of employment would also be considered for a fixed term of 2 years.- We are looking for a Project Officer who has the skills and qualities to build on the success of the project and have the vision to develop it further and contribute to securing its long-term future. Training will be provided for the person with the right transferable skills.- You will need to have:
- experience of working with community groups and in partnership with other stakeholders including landowners, statutory agencies and NGO’s
- the ability to communicate effectively across a range of media and audiences
- a passion for rural development and environmental protection
- an understanding of the principles of Natural Flood Management/RSuDS
- experience of environmental project delivery
- Experience of delivering NFM projects is desirable
