We are looking for an individual to join our close-knit team of Clinical Read Coders and Administration Assistants.

We are looking for a Clinical Read Coder to provide a high quality, professional clinical administrative service to patients, doctors, staff, colleagues, health service professionals and others as well as to act within your professional boundaries, supporting a team of clinicians in general practice.

The role of Read coder is fundamental to the smooth running of the practice and has a unique role in ensuring accurate patient records are available for Clinical colleagues.

Liaise with clinical colleagues to ensure that correct information is recorded for patients and that they are aware of actions required by the GP.

The post holder will be responsible for reviewing incoming mail and documents on patients' records ensuring this is accurately recorded in date order

Ensure correspondence, reports, results etc. are assembled according to practice stringing protocol, managing workload with an organised and methodical approach.

Communicate effectively with a range of colleagues and patients.

Scanning documents, ensuring that they are recorded accurately and on the correct patient record.

Work accurately when reviewing clinical documentation and follow clear protocols to ensure that clinical details are recorded accurately on patient records.

Prioritise your workload on a daily basis.

Work both independently and within a small team.

Remain calm under pressure.

Adopt a flexible working approach to ensure that the clinical coding team is staffed during periods of absences and sickness when required.

**Essential criteria**

GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths

**Desirable criteria**

A Levels

**Experience**

**Essential criteria**

Excellent communication skills

Experience of working within a team

Ability to manage own workload and meet deadlines.

Experience of working with a high degree of attention to detail and accuracy.

**Desirable criteria**

Experience of coding clinical information

Experience of SystmOne and/or other clinical system

Ability to demonstrate knowledge of medical terminology

Experience with Microsoft Office

Experience of working within a healthcare setting

Proficient Typing Skills

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 37 per week

**Salary**: £15,000.00-£21,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
