As a finance assistant you are an integral part of a team responsible for maintaining an efficient and accurate finance function within a business. If this sounds like the ideal role for you, consider joining the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) in West Cumbria, via Energus, as a Finance Apprentice.

**Who are the NDA and Energus?**

Energus manage, on behalf of the NDA and wider nuclear industry, an award-winning apprenticeship programme. With over 10 years' experience managing Early Careers programmes across the UK, Energus finds talented apprentices for a range of prestigious employers and ensure a continuous pipeline of talent into the nuclear sector. **The NDA** **group **sustainably, safely and securely decommissions the UK's earliest nuclear facilities and preparing them for their next use. Our work ranges from reducing hazards at nuclear sites, to delivering a permanent Geological Disposal Facility for radioactive waste and transporting nuclear materials globally. We also have a unique role supporting delivery of the Government's sustainability aspirations to achieve and investing in social impact programmes to support the communities around our sites.

**Your journey**

The NDA group put your development and growth first, and we pride ourselves on our commitment to providing a supportive work environment. Whilst you will be employed by Energus, you will work within the NDA to develop your overall finance knowledge through providing finance support to your team. This role is diverse, and varied, and will require you to develop your existing abilities whilst learning new skills. This will centre on providing high quality, occasionally confidential, finance services such as
- Acting as a core team member supporting finance administration, covering areas such as bookkeeping and basic costing principles
- Preparing and processing invoice and supporting with payroll and expenses as required
- Gaining an insight into general finance processes, systems and principles within a busy Finance team; and
- Providing ad hoc support in a variety of finance related tasks to the team as required.
- Maintain and update appropriate files, to ensure that the team has access to the most up to date information.
- Draft correspondence as required by colleagues.

This is a 3-year Apprenticeship programme which will encompass both L2 and L3 Finance.

**Qualifications and Skills**
- You'll have at least grades 9 to 4 (A* to C) GCSE's in Maths and English. You should have a genuine interest in a career in finance with strong numeracy skills. You must have good verbal and written communication skills along with a high attention to detail and good organisational skills. You should also adapt well to change with a willingness to take full advantage of the opportunities presented by the programme.
