Position: Macmillan Welfare Benefits Caseworker
Location: South Lakeland
Actual Salary: £12,254 depending on experience, plus 3% pension. Pay review is pending.
Hours: 18.5 per week.
Base location: Either at our Kendal or Ulverston office
Closing date: 3 January 2023 at 12 Noon
Interview Date: Week commencing 9 January. Date and time to be confirmed.
**Type of contract: Fixed term**
The Welfare Benefits Caseworker will work with the Macmillan team, and support team, to deliver comprehensive, quality and accessible welfare benefits advice service.
The postholder will provide the service through a variety of channels at either of our offices, the person’s home, within the hospital setting and/or other venues across the district.
This post is funded by Macmillan Cancer Support and is part of a county-wide contract. The successful postholder will work alongside our part time Welfare Benefits Caseworker to deliver a quality Welfare Benefits advice service for people living and affected by Cancer.
Some of the hours may be worked from home.
We are looking for someone with
- experience of providing Welfare Benefits advice;
- the ability to work sensitively with clients and family members;
- good communication skills;
- experience of delivering a service to quality standards, deadlines and targets.
