We are constructing a state-of-the-art underground mine to enable the extraction of Polyhalite - a unique multi-nutrient fertiliser - along with the necessary infrastructure both above and below ground that will be required for transport, processing, and distribution.

POLY4 is our flagship multi-nutrient fertiliser product. Made from polyhalite, it contains four of the six macro-nutrients and many micronutrients that are essential to plant growth. It allows farmers to maximise their crop yield, increase quality and improve soil structure with one simple product.

**Job Description**:

- Join us as an Occupational Hygienist where you will provide a comprehensive and proactive risk management approach, focused on early intervention. Your responsibilities will include conducting occupational exposure assessments following HSE methodology, all aimed at fostering the health and well-being of our valued employees. Key Responsibilities include:

- Recognizing potentially hazardous situations and practices in equipment, project activities systems, products, facilities etc. and calculating the level of risk to workers in terms of exposure
- Develop and maintain the health risk assessment.
- Develop risk management strategies for reducing, eliminating identified hazard and exposure levels to individuals in the workplaces and associated policy development.
- Develop reports including emergency, quarterly and annual.
- Develop, advise, implement, and evaluate controls that reduce the exposure from industrial hazards i.e., dust, noise, chemicals, vapors etc.
- Ensuring that physical agents are identified, managed, and controlled to reduce, eliminate potential exposure such as noise and vibration from fixed and handheld equipment.
- Ensuring that biological agents: bacteria (e.g., legionella in water systems, food are identified, managed, and controlled to reduce, eliminate potential exposure
- Ensuring that ergonomic agents: musculoskeletal issues are identified, managed, and controlled to reduce, eliminate potential exposure.
- Use administrative measures to further reduce risk.
- Select appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to reduce risk further if still required and as a last resort, or as an interim protective measure.
- Assist with preparation and delivery of training and information materials on occupational hygiene related topics to the project.
- Development of preventative programs e.g. ergonomics
- Develop communications strategy for communication to stakeholders.
- Ensure chemical database is maintained with up to date information - Support COSHH assessments
- Implement AA Group Total Health Framework
- Educate and support staff on their journey to self-ownership of health and wellbeing. Supporting the Beyond Zero Harm philosophy
- Assist in the reduction of absence and injury.
- Support the existing medical team with the delivery of Health Promotion etc
- Support the implementation of both digital Occupational Health and the Hygiene Management System
- Qualifications
- A university bachelor’s or master’s qualification in Occupational Hygiene or equivalent.
- Affiliate member of the Faculty of Occupational Hygiene (AFOH) or equivalent
- Further ventilation qualification, desirable
- Knowledgeable in Toxicology and how the various hazardous agents impact on the human body
- Experienced in various measurement methods and associated equipment/instrumentation.
- Proactive and highly self-motivated, ability to work well under pressure to tight deadlines and to manage own workload.

- A valid UK country driving license is not required for this role
- This role may require a company medical assessment in line with the role requirements.
