**Job/Person Summary**

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and proactive Home School Link Worker to join our fantastic staff team. We are looking for someone to establish this new position as part of our inclusion team, working closely with the Assistant Headteacher for Inclusion and other school staff to further develop the important relationship between home and school.

Do you already have experience in a role supporting and promoting links between home and school and have a proven track record of engaging families and supporting them to develop a positive relationship with school? Are you a great communicator who can connect with parents and carers to provide advice and support? If so, we would love to hear for you.

The term-time role is for 39 weeks a year working 32.5 hours a week. The core hours are 8:30am to 3:30pm Monday to Friday, with 30 minutes for lunch. Some flexibility to adapt these hours to suit the needs of our families, such as providing parenting advice after school, would be helpful.

The role is likely to include:

- advising parents/carers about setting up positive routines and boundaries for their children
- signposting and referring families to outside agencies to support with specific areas of need e.g. sleep and eating
- promoting good attendance and supporting children, parents/carers to overcome barriers to attendance
- delivering evidence-based parenting courses to support small groups of parents
- promoting children’s engagement in learning
- providing advice and guidance to parents on supporting their children’s learning at home and completing homework and home learning projects
