Yard Assistant

Imperial Bricks Ltd is one of the UK’s leading suppliers of traditional handmade, wire-cut and pressed bricks. The company is currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled Yard Assistant to join their team.

**The main purpose of the job**:
To assist with all yard operations and strengthen the team in order to receive and process orders for reclamation goods.

**Key tasks/main duties of the role**:
To assist the Yard Foreman by unloading deliveries, loading customer vehicles whilst maintaining a high standard of tidiness to ensure the yard is always presentable.

To ensure health and safety measures are always maintained in yard by members of staff and public.

To pick stock for orders for Simmonds and local deliveries.

Focus on mainly by-hand work, restacking bricks, tiles, stones etc.

To offer assistance with brick expertise including bespoke blends and weathering if necessary.

Offer cover to relieve office staff during peak season/staff absences etc. by assisting customers in the yard if required.

To assist Office Co-Managers to answer incoming telephone calls to take customer orders, handle enquiries or resolve complaints if necessary.

To always promote the company in a professional manner ensuring high standards of customer service are always met.

To perform any other duties relevant to the role as requested.

**Work Patterns, shifts**:
Normal office hours are 8:00am. to 5:00pm but you may need to respond to fluctuating volumes and customer needs.

**Person Specification**:

- Good communication skills
- Be a highly motivated individual with initiative and self-confidence.
- A willingness to undertake training as necessary.
- Hold an up to date Fork Lift Truck training certificate.
- Valid drivers license is essential due to location.

**Salary**: £23,000.00 per year

**Experience**:

- Warehouse experience: 1 year (preferred)
