This role is a strategic Digital leadership role within the senior management team of the Information and Digital Technology (IDT) Directorate responsible for providing a secure, effective and efficient Digital Governance service serving the overall requirements of the organisation. Providing assurance to the Board that all areas of Digital operations and transformation are provided and managed in accordance with governance principles, outlined in local Board policies and legislation.

To lead the Digital Governance function in the area of IDT Strategy Development and annual review. To produce a rolling five year delivery plan in order to support implementation of the Digital Strategy and to provide a basis for annual review in the form of annual reporting.

The role is responsible for developing technical standards, processes and procedures ensuring that the principles of Enterprise Architecture (EA) are embedded in IDT organisation and structure and are at the forefront of planning and designing digital processes and solutions in support of the Digital Strategy and the business aims of the Board generally.

To manage a strategic portfolio, leading the planning, coordinating and design of Digital Governance processes across the organisation. To provide assurance to the Board that changes in legislation and policy nationally are reflected in policy within the Health Board and that supporting processes, including training, formal guidance, compliance monitoring and advice are in place. To act as a source of expert advice and provide expert direction in respect of the uses of information and cyber security pertaining to Digital solutions that support clinical and non-clinical processes.

To lead the Digital Governance function so that it is able to keep pace with and inform the Digital transformation processes within the Health Board. To ensure that all compliance functions, Data Protection, Information/Cyber Security, Enterprise Architecture, Business Continuity, Risk Management and Digital Procurement are aligned and integrated in a single Digital Governance function.

To work closely with key clinical and non-clinical decision makers locally, regionally, and nationally, including Health and Social Care integration partners, to ensure the legality, security, and efficacy of technological solutions and the uses of information generally for all aspects of the organisation.

To lead on the development of Business Cases as required to support the delivery of digital strategy.

To represent NHS Lanarkshire on Regional and National Digital Groups as agreed with the Director of Information and Digital.
