An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of a new team of professionals delivering a brand new Orthopaedic Elective Surgery service at Elective Centre Ashford Surrey (ECAS)

We are looking for a dynamic and passionate individual to join our senior clinical team as a Matron. You will have proven leadership experience with the energy to support and coach staff to ensure best practice across our service. You will be an exceptional communicator, problem solver and able to build positive and effective relationships. You will lead by example, motivate and empower the team as well as be passionate about staff well-being.

**The postholder will**:

- Be a visible, accessible, and authoritative leader and presence in clinical areas
- Work alongside the clinical team with a clinical input of 40% (0.4WTE).
- Drive forward sound discharge processes focusing on discharge planning that is safe and efficient.
- Ensure patients are treated with privacy and respect and patients safety issues are adhered to.
- Provide effective clinical leadership, expertise, advice and support to the clinical teams and ensure best practice and the provision of high quality care to patients, families and carers.
- Facilitate the induction, education and continuing professional development in conjunction with the unit/department managers of all nursing and support staff by liaising with the Clinical Practice Educator.
- Lead, support, develop and strengthen the role of the unit/department managers and ensure that appropriate time is allocated to the ‘’Perfect Ward Quality Indicators’’ tasks ensuring that recommended best practice and standards are adhered to and dashboard compliance is achieved and maintained.
- Contribute to clinical governance, transformational change and improvement programmes leading on designated projects and tasks.
- With the Divisional Chief Nurse ensure the establishment of staff is fit for purpose including leading the recruitment and retention of staff.

- To provide direct clinical leadership.
- To be responsible for clinical operational management and service delivery process e.g. within the clinical areas. This includes managing and monitoring resources within a defined budget and contributing to the corporate agenda.
- Within the framework of clinical governance, to lead and promote a quality service using research and evidence based practice including the setting and monitoring of clinical standards.
- To monitor CQC, Nursing and Clinical Audits, Perfect Ward Quality Audits and Ward Accreditation.
