Overview Of Role This new project focusses on three modelling components:
- Combining meteorological data and forecasts with models for aphid population metrics and crop development to advance and extend Virus Yellow forecasts, including the incorporation of alternative control strategies;
- Assessing geographical variation in Virus Yellow incidence and hence develop approaches for regional rather than national forecasts and potentially more tailored control strategies;
- Developing a simulation framework for the "virus yellow - aphid - sugar beet" system, to enable the exploration of the impacts of different combinations of control strategies.-
