**About the role**

We have a new opportunity at DS Smith Packaging for a Regional Category Marketing Manager to join us, taking on the responsibility for rolling out category and channel management across Northern Europe. You will be responsible for fuelling our organic salesgrowth roadmap as well as influencing the strategies, tactics and solutions required for us to prosper in the market. This role will be crucial in developing a data-based decision making culture, enabling us to gain insight and turn that into action that drivesprofitable growth.

You will be a crucial point in the matrix structure - critical to the influence of sales, operations, finance and marketing so that we understand what to focus on and how to thrive in an ever-changing marketplace.

Other responsibilities will include:

- Segment Insight: deep dives into the market segment (e.g. Confectionery or ecommerce) from both internal (financial, sales teams, CRM) and external sources (Euromonitor, desk research, Mintel, IGD etc).
- Product offer: Reviewing existing product offers within the segment, highlighting potential gaps, improvements and innovation opportunities as result of the insight work.
- Scalable innovation market sizing and assessments to achieve North Region Innovation Target of £250M by 2025.
- Partnering with Sales teams to establish our role as packaging strategists for our customers and drive top and bottom line growth by continuously re-assessing our portfolio (including Innovation) based on ever changing trends and insights in the specificmarket segments.
- Developing target lists of new prospect customers and supporting sales teams in preparing and participating at pitch presentations.
- Defining what is required from a communication strategy together with the Regional and Market Communications Manager for them to develop and deploy effective omnichannel marketing activation plans. This should also direct content and focus for the CustomerEngagement team.

**About you**
- Significant experience in Category Management, Customer Marketing, Commercial Strategy, etc
- Experience working in large, multinational FMCG or B2B organisations
- Commercially focussed, with the ability to build strong relationships with sales teams across the region
- Excellent data analysis and insight development skills
- Able to develop strategy in a fast-growing business and deliver growth to our customers
- Proven track record in insight-driven innovation or commercial/marketing strategy projects
- Interest in consumer behaviour, retailing, FMCG supply chains and fast-changing sales channels
- Proficiency in German would be advantageous
