Jointer's Mate

Walker & Watts Limited is a leading utilities design, consultancy and construction company in England & Scotland, dedicated to delivering high-quality services. We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Jointer's Mate, focusing on LV Unlooping Framework contracts for our Distribution Network Operator (DNO) operations in Scotland.

**Job Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:
**1. Assistance in Jointing Activities**:

- Work closely with experienced jointers to assist in cable jointing and associated activities.
- Follow instructions and contribute to the efficient and safe execution of LV Unlooping Framework projects.

**2. Material Handling**:

- Assist in the handling, transportation, and organisation of materials and tools required for jointing tasks.
- Ensure the proper storage and care of equipment to maintain safety standards.

**3. Site Preparation**:

- Support the jointing team in the preparation of work sites, including excavation, trenching, and other groundwork activities.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure that work areas are safe and compliant with health and safety regulations.

**4. Safety Compliance**:

- Adhere to health and safety guidelines and protocols at all times.
- Participate in safety briefings and contribute to the identification and mitigation of potential hazards.

**5. Documentation and Record Keeping**:

- Maintain accurate records of jointing activities, including material usage and work performed.
- Report any issues or concerns to the jointing team and supervisors promptly.

**6. Continuous Learning**:

- Actively engage in training opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in jointing activities.
- Seek guidance from experienced jointers to develop expertise in LV Unlooping Framework projects.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Previous experience in a support role within the energy, construction, or utility industry is advantageous.
- Basic understanding of electrical systems and cable jointing processes is desirable.
- Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual tasks in a variety of weather conditions.
