Job Summary:

- General maintenance tasks throughout the Railways facilities under direction from the Facilities Supervisor.
- Carry out Planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs.

**Duties and responsibilities**:

- To carry out general repairs throughout the railway to a high standard
- Use HOPS (Heritage Rail Operations program) as a tools for logging work required and completed. (Training will be given)
- Knowledgeable of Health & Safety requirements and abide by the Health and safety policies and procedures when working on site or at different locations on behalf of the Railway
- To produce (where necessary) and abide by relevant Risk Assessments.
- Undertake training required by the Railway.
- Use all equipment and company vehicles in a responsible manner.
- To assist contractors requiring access to all sites acting on behalf of the Railway.
- Ensure work sites are left safe and secure when not in use.
- Be a key holder and respond to activated building alarms on a rota basis.

Any other duties as directed and as required commensurate with the post.

**Person Specification**:

- Be skilled in a trade and have knowledge of general repair and maintenance.
- Willingness to be trained (including first aid and Personal Track safety)
- IT literate, knowledge of word and excel is desirable
- A knowledge of current Railway practices and procedures advantageous.
- Experience of working with volunteers would be beneficial but not essential.
- The ability to communicate in Welsh or willingness to learn is desirable.
- To hold a current driving licence (with less than 3 points)

**Terms**:
38 hours per week, flexible working or job share will be considered.

£12 per hour.

Uniform, PPE and tools provided.
