Qc Test Controller

**Main duties & responsibilities**:
- Ensure all test processes are safe and effective, preventing defective products leaving the premises with safety of our employees and customers as the highest priority.
- Assume responsibility for test machine passwords and ensure it is only accessible to staff who have been suitably trained and demonstrated competency in the test process and creation of programmes.
- Create and implement a training programme for both the testing process and creation of test programmes.
- Identify and train key staff in each unit who will assist with the creation of test programmes.
- Review testing staff on an ongoing basis to ensure a high level of competency is maintained.
- Where faults occur in testing investigate and assist with their resolution when needed.
- Review the existing test programmes to eliminate historic errors and with a view to standardising their format across all manufacturing units.
- Identify and implement areas for improvement in testing, for example improvements in methods for measuring power values.
- Work with IT to develop a centralised storage location for test units to eliminate duplication across units minimising the number of test programmes.
- Manage and maintain test equipment ensuring that all test benches have adequate test equipment in good condition with duplicates where necessary.
- Identify and implement improvements in the test process which will allow production efficiency gains.
- Control and update wireless test processes to ensure that these are comprehensive and effective.
- Implement systems to log manufacturing defects at testing stage for data gathering purposes to identify root causes and allow ongoing improvements to be made.
- Follow the Quality Control guidelines set by the company.
- Follow the requirements of the company’s ISO Procedures.
- Follow the Company’s Health & safety Policy, work instructions and safe systems of work.
**Post Requirements**:
- A strong understanding of the test equipment, processes and standards.
- An excellent understanding of sensors, wireless systems, emergency types and power consumption / typical luminaire efficiency.
- Good product knowledge.
- An ability to implement new systems to improve processes and review existing systems to identify improvements.
- Ability to train others and disseminate knowledge amongst testing staff.
- To be highly motivated to work on own initiative and have the ability to work independently.
