Home From Home is a private day nursery based in the suburban village of Compstall. We opened in July 2013 providing high quality childcare and education. This unique homely environment caters for children aged 0-5 years. We ensure that every child in our care develops socially and intellectually in a happy stimulating environment. We encourage all children to voice their own individual ideas and play with activities of their own choice. Our nursery is located next to Etherow country park, a local nature reserve filled with lively woodland, rivers and wildlife. This gives us endless opportunities to explore the outdoor environment, looking for bugs, making mud pies and splashing in muddy puddles.

**About the role**:
**Main duties will include**:

- Working as a nursery assistant meeting the personal and emotional needs of individual children
- To contribute to a high quality caring environment for children
- Creating a warm, friendly and stimulating atmosphere in which the children can develop emotionally, socially and educationally through individual attention and group activities
- Support colleagues and engage in a good staff team
- Contribute to good standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the nursery
- Ensure the provision of a high quality environment to meet the needs of individual children from differing cultures, religious backgrounds and stages of development
- Provide interaction with the children and be constantly aware of their needs
- Understand that as part of training you will be required to move to various parts of the nursery
- Be aware of the nursery's confidentiality policy and to respect the confidentiality of information received
- Carry out duties in compliance with the nursery’s equal opportunities policy
- To be aware of all emergency and fire evacuation procedures

**What we are looking for in our apprentice**:

- Communication skills
- Team working
- Initiative
- Positive attitude
- GCSE or equivalent Maths and English (Grade 4) desirable

**Training provided**:

- Our apprentice will work towards gaining the Early Years Practitioner Level 2 or the Early Years Educator level 3 qualification
- Training will take place at the setting on a weekly/monthly basis with mandatory and ongoing training i.e. safeguarding, first aid
- Functional skills maths/English to be completed where required

**Other information**
- Working hours are 40 per week, Monday to Friday between 7.00am and 6pm across varying shifts
- Hourly rate of pay £4.81

**Future Prospects**:
On successful completion of the apprenticeship programme, depending on performance and availability, you may be offered a full time role at the nursery and the opportunity to train to a higher level.
