**Role Overview**:
To undertake and supervise, as part of a team or as an individual, the maintenance and construction of roads ,sewers, drains and groundwork, in addition to skilled operations and winter maintenance activities.
- The operation/driving of highways vehicles.
- Driving/Operation of light/heavy specialist plant for the purpose of highways works.
- The post holder would also be required to carry out manual groundworks and the use of small plant.
- Flagging, kerbing/edging, block paving and concrete works all to precise lines and levels
- Application and compaction of granular bituminous materials.

The post holder will also be able to take part in out of hours work on Winter Maintenance and other Highway emergency works.

The post holder would also need to be numerate and literate to complete both electronic and written work sheets.

**Key Requirements**:
Essential Criteria:

- Relevant experience of highway maintenance and construction work
- A valid driving license
- Supervision and mentoring experience

Desirable Criteria:

- New Roads & Street Works Accredited Operative
- Training in the use of small plant, such as, but not limited to, abrasive wheel and light plant
- A valid driving license with category C, CE, C1 and up-to-date CPC training
