Storesperson / Packer

The Storesperson/Packer plays a crucial role in the efficient functioning of the Stores department. The primary responsibilities include securely packing goods according to shipping requirements/regulations, conducting quality checks, and supporting day-to-day operations within a busy factory environment. The role also involves the movement of goods using various equipment, with a strong emphasis on maintaining high standards of safety and housekeeping.

**MAIN DUTIES OF JOB**:

- **Packaging**: Pack goods securely per shipping requirements and regulations, ensuring a final quality check before dispatch.
- **Inventory Management**: Monitor and count crate usage, facilitating timely ordering when required.
- **Documentation**: Ensure correct sizes, weights, and relevant paperwork are provided to the Shipping Team as needed.
- **Material Handling**: Move goods around the factory using a counterbalance forklift, ensuring safe loading and unloading of lorries when necessary.
- **Warehousing**: Safely stack and unstack goods at height in racking when required.
- **Logistics Support**: Assist in loading and unloading lorries, contributing to the efficient flow of goods.
- **Housekeeping**: Maintain the work area to high housekeeping standards, promoting a clean and organised environment.
- **Company Values**: Actively promote and embody the company's values.

**Essential Experience and Qualifications**:

- Experience of using a counterbalance forklift
- Experience of using a power-assisted pedestrian stacker
- Experience using a pivot forklift
- Experience of working in a busy engineering environment
- GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths
- Valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence
- Power Assisted Pedestrian Stacker Licence
- Pivot Truck Licence
