**About the role**:
Vision for Education have partnered with this specialist school to recruit an experienced Autism Support Assistant to join their team. Throughout the role of an Autism Support Assistant, you will be supporting and working closely with children and young people who have complex needs. You may be asked to work on a 1:1 basis with students who require extra support as well as working in small groups, making sure pupils are engaged. This is a full time/long term role, meaning the appointed Autism Support Assistant will be working Monday to Friday between the hours of 08:30 to 16:30.
**About the school**:
This SEND school, located in Sunderland, supports children and young people aged between 5 to 12 who have complex needs such as Autism, Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD), Challenging Behaviours and Social and Emotional Mental Health (SEMH).
**Requirements**:
To be considered for the role of Autism Support Assistant you will:
- Must have enhanced DBS registered on the update service/ be willing to go through the DBS process if do not already hold certificate
- Must have experience and be passionate about working with SEND pupils
- Must be able to work as part of a team as well as independently
- Must be kind, caring and compassionate
