First Contact Practitioner

Ramsey, United Kingdom Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust Full time

We are hiring a physiotherapist or osteopath, either working as a First contact Practitioner, or ready to take that next step towards advanced practice.

You’ll be based at Rainbow Surgery and George Clare Surgery for South Fenlands Primary Care Network (PCN) and you will be supported by an experienced Advanced Practice Physiotherapist.
- We are the largest providers of FCP services in the region and are experienced in setting up and supporting FCP roles.
- Regular clinical supervision, mentoring, and professional development will be provided to ensure the post holder maximises their potential.
- You will have a nominated FCP accredited supervisor who will support you through your development towards the Health Education England requirements for the FCP MSK RoadMap.
- We have a well-established Musculoskeletal Interface service enabling the FCP service to be fully integrated within the MSK system.
- FCPs are included in the regular Advanced Practice Physiotherapist training sessions.

The FCP will work at GP practices managing patients, without prior contact with their GP, to provide evidence-based diagnosis and management plan informed by expert clinical reasoning. The assessment could include referring for diagnostics such as blood tests, X-rays, and ultrasound scans.

Rated ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission, we are proud to provide high quality innovative services across most of the east of England that enable people to receive care closer to home and live healthier lives.

There’s one reason why our services are outstanding - and that’s our amazing staff - who, for the seventh year running, rated us incredibly highly in the national staff survey.

Please see detailed JD attached.

If there are available MSK Physiotherapy hours in the Dynamic Health Department and the applicant is interested in split role working in addition to the advertised FCP work, this can be explored at the interview.
