**SHEQ Advisor**

**About the Role**

Working for our client, the SHEQ Adviser will be responsible for supporting the Safety performance of our clients’ contract, with the main work being excavation and reinstatement predominantly in the Scottish central region.

Reporting directly to the Contract SHEQ Manager and working closely with the SPEN contract team, you will ensure a proactive approach to supporting SHEQ performance ensuring compliance with relevant statute, regulatory, client and standards/specifications, whilst driving continual improvement. You will support ongoing relationships and frameworks with existing clients, and agreed targets, in line with a defined SHEQ plan.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Proactive support of all aspects of SHEQ
- Support compliance against company, client and legislative requirements
- Support development and delivery of the SHEQ Plan and associated process to drive continual improvement
- Support alignment with client vision and values and performance requirements
- Support SHEQ requirements as a minimum to meet company and client standards
- Work closely with all management levels in the SPEN team to effectively deliver SHEQ performance on all projects
- Support the monthly reporting process information, both internally and to clients
- Monitor/review all relevant aspects of SHEQ standards including site inspections
- Assist in the contract competence including the delivery of company training courses, initiatives, and contract inductions
- Support to any Incident and Accident investigations in in accordance with company and client requirements
- Assume the Contract SHEQ Manager duties within your competency / knowledge range as requested by the SHEQ Manager
- Willingness to travel throughout Scotland which may occasionally including overnight stays

**Education/Qualifications**
- NEBOSH General Certificate - Construction preferred
- Full UK driving license
- CSCS Card or equivalent

**Skills and Knowledge Requirements**
- Knowledge of the utilities and/or construction sector
- Ensure our client maintains a positive public image by following good practice and adopting a considerate attitude

- Develops lasting relationships with client personnel that foster client ties and support the long term business plan

**Salary**: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
