Your new role

As the Lead Data and Information Governance Manager you will provide technical leadership for information & data assets within National Highways. You will also manage the National Highways policy for the management of data & information assets to supportdelivery of corporate objectives.
What you’ll be leading om
- Support the production and maintenance of company policy and strategy for data, information and records to deliver the company strategic objectives.
- Support the management of the monetisation of data and information assets
- Champion data leadership throughout the company. Support the specification of required competences and mentor and challenge data and information professionals in all parts of National Highways.
- Support the development of statute and external regulations and standards to protect the interests of National Highways; determine the technical requirements necessary to comply with these and reflect in company documentation.
- Delivery of the data and information assurance regime including the verification of the condition and performance of data and information assets
- Support in the development of technical recommendations arising from formal investigations and other investigations into significant safety or performance affecting failures.
- Lead corporate records management policy activities to enable National Highways to deliver objectives and remain compliant with legislative, regulatory and technical developments.

- Data Communication - Turns complex data into clear, simple, and actionable stories. Shares data communication skills with the team and across National Highways.
- Data Governance - Evolves and defines data governance and takes responsibility for collaborating and supporting in wider governance. Knows how to assure and integrate data services to meet the needs of multiple business services. Works proactively to ensurethe organisation designs architecture that considers data.
- Data Innovation - Understands the impact of emerging trends on the organisation in data tools, analysis techniques and data usage.
- Problem Resolution (Data) - Ensures that the most appropriate actions are taken to resolve problems as they occur. Coordinates teams to resolve problems and implement solutions and preventative measures.
- Metadata Management (Practitioner) - Designs an appropriate metadata repository and presents changes to existing metadata repositories. Understands a range of tools for storing and working with metadata. Provides oversight and advice to more inexperiencedmembers of the team.
