We are looking for a Transport Planner whose responsibilities include planning and operations of the business, including the monitoring of all procedures to ensure full compliance.

**Typical duties will include but not limited to-**
- Monitor vehicles and trailers, including hired vehicles and trailers are kept fit and serviceable in keeping with the current legislation
- Monitor defect recording and reporting systems and ensure drivers report promptly and defect or symptoms or defects that could prevent the safe operations of vehicles and or trailers, and that any defects are promptly recorded in writing
- Being responsible for the day to day planning of vehicles and loads
- Receiving and managing transport orders - sending PODs, quoting jobs, creating POs
- Communicate daily with other managers and departments to deliver the best service
- Having FORs knowledge would be advantageous
- Being able to adapt and over come any transport related issues
- Checking and provide operational KPIs for service providers/ customers
- Operate in compliance with the operators licence and procedures with FORS at a Gold accreditation level
- Planning of vehicle maintenance, PMIs, Tacho Calibrations and brake testing to limit vehicle down time
- Maintain records of all driver defects reports, all safety inspections, routine maintenance and repairs to vehicles and trailers and these are made available on request
- Manage the execution, direction and coordination of all transport matters within the organisation
- Improve the saturation of the vehicles and maximise payloads
- Implement and comply with company policies and procedures
- Staff management and other general ad hoc duties
- Experience in transport planning and management of a HGV fleet in a similar role
- CPC Transport Management (advantageous)
- FORS Practitioner (advantageous)
- HGV licence (preferred)

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £30,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
