Support, Educate and Nurture. Sense Education are passionate about helping young people and improving the learning journey for young people with SEND.

We are currently looking for Teaching Assistants to join our team to work in SEND schools in the Whitehaven area. We are looking for consistent and supportive TAs to work in small class groups supporting the teacher in delivering personalised lessons that are tailored to the pupils needs. This role requires people who are flexible, communicative and caring. We will consider people with previous TA experience and also people from other industries who are passionate about helping young people with SEND. You could be working with pupils with Autism, Global development delay, SEMH and physical disabilities.

The role
- You will be working with a team of TAs assisting pupils during lessons and group sessions
- To work 1:1 and also in small groups with pupils
- You may be expected to fill in pupils learning journals and document reading and development milestones
- The role could be supporting in other sessions such as Music Therapy, Art Therapy, Speech and Language sessions
- The role could require the use of basic Makaton which can be learnt on the role
- Assisting with lunch times and break times when required.
- Supporting in soft play and sensory play sessions
- Practising and implementing positive behaviour management methods.
- To create a safe learning environment for the pupils and keeping safeguarding as a priority

The ideal Applicant
- Will be kind and caring

- A great communicator and willing to create strong relationships with pupils and staff
- Positive energy to bring positivity to the classroom
- Previous experience as a TA is desirable but not essential

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

**Salary**: £80.00-£90.00 per day
